A Jute Rug for a Warmer Feel

In our living room at home, we had a placeholder rug previously, which was just emphasising the grey flooring that came with the flat. I always believe a home should feel warm and welcoming, so we’ve been choosing warmer tones (Dulux Heritage Flax Seed paint and this natural brown jute rug) to incorporate where we can.

I also personally find the knobbly jute rug underfoot quite soothing - in a similar way to walking in nature. What we’ve learnt from biophilia, I’m sure this has a calming effect on the body! The jute rug we chose is the classic Ikea Lohals (200x300cm).

Other ways we’ve warmed up the room is through texture. Our pink sofa is velvet, which keeps us warm physically! The footstool I customised using Marvic Textiles fabric and oak carved feet.
