How to Create a Country Laundry Room

 

Do you love the modern rustic look laundry room? English countryside cottage homes are so inspiring to me, as they feel cosy, approachable, and extremely charming.

If you’re lucky enough to have a corner of your home for your washer dryer, why not decorate it into being a space where you’d love to spend time? Just because it’s laundry, doesn’t mean it can’t be a considered, nurturing space. If you decorate it in a way you love, you can create a little escape for yourself.

To create an English country laundry room, there are a few elements you could consider incorporating at home:

1. Fabric curtains to cover your machines or shelves

2. A wooden counter top is soft to the touch and convenient for folding

3. Tongue-and-groove panelling everywhere, or as a backsplash

4. Baskets for hidden storage and transporting freshly ironed sheets and clothes

5. Stone floors to hold up against dropping muddy clothes, or pushing around baskets or luggage

6. Shaker-style cabinets for classically country style
