Schjerfbeck-inspired colour palette

Something that struck me upon discovering Helene Schjerfbeck’s work at the Royal Academy’s exhibition, was her use of colour, which was both daring and subtle. Her balance of calm, muted tones, with rich, bright ones is fantastic. It’s playful. I think it also reflects well how we appreciate colour: through contrasts, balance, pops!
