Wallpaper for Magical Kids' Rooms

Create a magical space for your child, where they can let their imaginations run wild, with this styling detail: wallpaper. It will give their space a unique feel, possibly even magical! Here are a few things to consider when choosing wallpaper to create a fantastical bedroom for your kids:

1. Animal or Nature Motifs

I’d recommend to choose a motif that will remain classic and last for years, especially if you’re not keen on re-wallpapering every few years. Something that will act as the backdrop to your child’s dreams, rather than imposing a theme and overtaking the room. Forest patterns or under-the-sea motifs are really exciting, as they allow you to imagine up a myriad of stories! Over-sized florals can be really playful too! A wallpaper that is obviously very theme-focused (for example with distinct animals in lots of colours, or almost one of those that could be a book illustration) might not keep up as well with your child’s tastes as they age, whereas something, which at first appears more as a pattern, could last longer.

2. Blue or Green tones

Blues and greens are ideal for bedrooms, as they are very calming colours, and will help soothe your kids at bedtime. (Typically grey can be good in bedrooms too, though I’d save this more for the adults’ rooms as they’re not so magical, I think!) Vibrant-coloured wallpaper in active reds or oranges are exciting in doses, but can over-stimulate us and bring out the firey sides of our personalities. I would avoid these for a child’s bedroom, and stick instead with relaxing greens and dreamy blues.

3. Let them choose

Pre-select a few options, then let your kids pick their favourite pattern! We all love to be involved in the creating process, them included!
